Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has reacted to the 2-2 draw against Juventus in the second round of the Champions League in Arena Stadium on Tuesday night.

Pochettino’s men came from two goals down after the opening nine-minute into the first half of the match.

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain broke the deadlock with a nice finish from just inside the area and in the ninth minute the Argentine converted a penalty kick after Tottenham defender Ben Davis fouled Federico Bernadeschi in the area.

Spurs began to build the comeback gradually as Max Allegri’s men were forced to play deep from their own half.

Harry Kane got the opener for Spurs with just 10 minutes remaining in the first 45 minutes when he rounded up Gianluigi Buffon and tapped the ball into an empty net.

Higuain had the chance to restore the Old Lady's two-goal advantage, again from the penalty spot. But this time the 28-year-old smashed the ball off the bar.

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen ensured Spurs levelled terms with the last year finalist after he fired in a free-kick to make it 2-2 with 19 minutes to end the game,

And speaking after the game, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his side deserved to win.

"Fantastic game," said Pochettino. "We were sloppy and conceded two goals in nine minutes, but the character we showed was fantastic.

"I want to congratulate the players - 2-0 down in Turin to a team so difficult to break down. We deserved a victory more than a draw.

"We are more mature now. In the last few weeks, the team are growing and have stepped up. It's a good example of the capacity we have.

"The team was amazing in how they reacted.

"You need some luck always in football. The tie is open, Juventus are a massive team. We have the hope we can win in Wembley."

Spurs will entertain Juventus at the Wembley for the return leg on the 7th of March.
