Paris Saint-Germain Coach Unai Emery believes the Champions League tie against Real Madrid is a ‘wonderful chance’ for his club.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery has reacted to the Champions League tie against Real Madrid after his club was pitted against the holders in the round of 16.
PSG will face the Spanish and European Champions in the second round, at this stage of the competition last season they faced Barcelona.
The Parisians blew away a first Leg advantage as they were eliminated on 6-5 aggregate loss to the Camp Nou outfit.
Real Madrid legend Valdano backs Ronaldo's Comment
“This is not the worst possible draw and I believe we are now at a level where we can defeat Real Madrid,” Emery is quoted as saying by Diario AS.
“This club wants to do something massive in the Champions League and to do that you need to compete against and beat the top European sides.
“I believe this encounter will have the eyes on the football world on it, just as our tie last season against Barcelona did.
“I have a lot of knowledge on Madrid, how they play, their style and what the atmosphere in the Bernabeu is like, I also have a lot of friends in the Spanish capital.
“This tie is a wonderful chance for us to perform at the very highest level.”
