England striker Harry Kane has heap praise on Croatia midfielder Luka Modric ahead of their must-win clash against the Blazers at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker is of the view that the Croatian captain is worthy of the Ballon d'Or winner for his exploit for club and country and he believes that Modric truly deserves the award he has collected after the World Cup such as The Best.

"He's definitely up there," Kane said in a press conference on Saturday when asked where Modric ranks in terms of the world's best players.

"I played a little bit with him when I was younger at Spurs.

"Everyone knows how good a player he is and he has been doing it year after year.

"He deserves all the awards he's getting, but hopefully he might have a quiet night tomorrow and we can win the game."

Modric has been instrumental for Real Madrid and was an integral part of the side that won the Champions League three times in a row.

England or Croatia must earn a win to qualify for the next stage of the UEFA Nation League a draw would work in favour of Spain who lost their last two games to England and Croatia respectively.
