UPDATE: Nigerians react as Mikel retires from Super Eagles

Nigerians have reacted as John Obi Mikel retired from Super Eagles following the third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The 32-year-old midfielder secured a deal with Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor, where he will compatriots Ogenyi Onazi and Anthony Nwakaeme.

Mikel made the announcement via his Instagram page on Thursday after featuring for just two matches against Burundi and Madagascar at the 32nd edition of the championship owing to the injury he suffered at the group stage. 

However, Nigerians took to Twitter to react of the news from Super Eagles captain statement.
