Former Real Madrid manager and striker Jorge Valdano has issued a warning to Los Blancos defender Marcelo about the prospect of facing Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final.

Valdano made it clear to the Brazilian defender that he needs to wake up and be at his best to take the Egyptian forward come May 26th in  Olimpiyskiy Stadium, Kiev.

“They should give him a photo of Salah so that he starts to include him in his prayers and begins to look after his side of the wing much better,” said Valdano after Real drew 2-2 with Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico.

“The Real Madrid defence needs to be more attentive, especially against Liverpool, because they are a team that thrives on the mistakes of their rivals.”

Marcelo best pal in Real Madrid left wing Cristiano Ronaldo will be rested in Real Madrid next two games after sustaining an ankle injury against Barcelona during the El-Clasico on Sunday at the Camp Nou.

Zinedine Zidane is confident that the Portuguese forward will be fit for the Champions League final but will miss two Real Madrid La Liga games against Sevilla and Celta Vigo but will make a return against Villarreal in the last match of the La Liga.
