Brighton & Hove Albion set to host London neighbor Crystal Palace in the FA Cup 3rd round and it will be the first competitive club match in England where VAR is used.

Football Association claimed that it in March this season FA Cup the Video Assistant Referee technology will be tried when Premier League rivals Brighton and Palace clash in January.

VAR, which was trialed in England's goalless draw with Germany in November, is used in game-changing situations - goals, penalties and straight red cards.

A two-year trial was approved in 2016, and the technology has been used in the FIFA Confederation Cup in Russia, Club World Cup, Bundesliga, Serie A and the MLS with varied success.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Manchester United's third-round clash with Derby County will not be shown live on television.
