Former Nigeria striker, Victor Agali, believes that the Super Eagles will improve their performance against Iceland in order to stand a chance of reaching the knock out stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

The Eagles lost 2-0 to Croatia in their first Group D game on Saturday in Kaliningrad and must now get a positive result in Volgograd on Friday.

Speaking with FCNaija at the Kaliningrad Airport on Monday evening, Agali said that there is a lot to be improved upon by the lads.

"I strongly believe that we didn't create enough chances, on the other hand, Croatia didn't but they took advantage of corner kicks and free kicks and were able to get their two goals from there," Agali told FCNaija.

"I still believe that we can do better than what we did. The players themselves know it is not enough. I believe they will up their game against Iceland. Hopefully, they will correct the mistakes and especially at defending set pieces," he said.

Nigeria will travel to Volgograd on Wednesday ahead of Friday's game.
