Super Eagles continue the training session at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport ahead of Saturday's showdown against defending champions Cameroon at Alexandria Stadium.

Both sides could only finish second in their respective groups and know that a win sees either country battle the host nation Egypt could now follow in the next round as a result.

Nigeria suffered a shock defeat at the hands of debutants Madagascar as they surrendered top spot in Group B of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which makes their route to the final more difficult as the three-time winners have not impressed by any means in the competition so far.

Gernot Rohr's side will still go into Saturday's match as slight favourites given the talent at their disposal, but they will know that a major improvement is needed if they are to make serious waves in the latter stages of the competition.

Super Eagles have not beaten by Cameroon in any competition since 2000 when they claimed one of their five Africa Cup of Nations trophies with a penalty shootout victory in the final.

Indeed, the Indomitable Lions have only ever beaten Nigeria four times in 22 previous meetings, but remarkably three of those victories have come in the final of this competition.

Super Eagles have won four and lost none of the last five contests, including a 5-1 aggregate triumph to seal their place at the 2018 World Cup.
