Premier League outfit Watford joined Anderlecht Barcelona, Feyenoord and Ajax Amsterdam for the race to sign sensational Nigerian star Alhassan Yusuf, who has taken the Swedish league by storm this season.
The 18-year-old FC Hearts Abuja academy graduate who made 12 appearances for IFK Goteborg including a Man-of-the-match display against Helsingborg in his first league start for the club.
According to Voetbalkrant claims that The Hornets were accompanied by scouts from Ajax, Barcelona, Genk, Feyenoord, Genoa, Anderlecht and Bayer Leverkusen, all there to watch Yusuf during his team’s 3-0 victory over AIK Solna back in April which Kano-born midfielder played the full 90 minutes.
The Nigerian teenager signed a representation contract with top agency GSM Agency headed by Patrick Mork, who has done a long list of multi-million Euros transfers involving the likes of Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah and Daniel Amartey.
Yusuf has continued to reproduce such form even as a withdrawn defensive midfielder as IFK Goteborg stay within the front runners in the Swedish top flight this season.
