Super Eagles midfielder has set his sights on a place in the last eight of the Europa League, after they failed to make the Champions League group phase.

Hapoel Be’er Sheva, where Ogu plays, are drawn with Vitoria Plzen, Lugano and Steaua Bucharesti in the group phase of the Europa League, and after a round of 32 exit last term, the 29-year old says they are now getting to advance more in the competition.

“We just want to try and advance to the quarterfinal because in the last Europa League we got to the Round 32 and we are looking forward to do better this year,” the Nigeria midfielder told SCORENigeria

“There are clubs whose budget is way bigger than ours and you talk about experience as well.

“One thing about my team is that we are not afraid to play any team, we played teams like this in the group stage last season in the Europa League – Inter Milan, Southampton – and we came out second (in the group), yet it is not going to be easy because these teams are good sides, I have played against them before, they are all big teams.

“In my team, we have got national team players but you cannot compare their experience to other teams, but as for me, I believe it’s all about what you can offer on the pitch of play.

“For me with the support of our fans every club who have to play against us in our stadium, won’t find it easy. Our fans are always behind us and if you check our records we have not lost up to three games since we moved to that stadium.

“We have got big teams in Europa League so it is not going to be easy.

“If we got to the quarterfinal, glory be to God and if we don’t, it’s a big experience that is the mentality we are taking to Europa League this season.”

They are home next Thursday to Lugano.
