Why Iwobi's Arsenal can reach the UEFA CL quarters
Ahead of Monday's the UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw in Nyon, Arsenal fans will pray their team don't get drawn against any of the top sides who despite finishing second in their respective groups are a force to reckon with in Europe.

For once in four years, the Gunners' faithfuls saw their team finish top opf the UCL group, doing so in style as they went through to the round of 16 unbeaten -a feat they last achieved back in the 2005/06 season.

Finishing top of the group in the UEFA CL means a team gets to play a considerably weaker side (having failed to win their group) but this time around, it appears some of the big guns soft pedaled and finished in second place which makes it more exciting ahead of the draws.

Having lost their last six round of 16 ties, Arsenal who Made it to the group stage for the 17th year running could face Bayern Munich, Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Porto and Sevilla.

Aside from Bayern Munich who have dumped Arsenal out of the UEFA Champions League in recent years, the rest of their potential opponent for the knockout phase have fared fairly against the English side. Arsenal stats against the likes of Real Madrid, Porto and Bayer Leverkusen offers their fans some glimmer of hope that their darling team can progress to quarter final.

Should they be fortunate to avoid the Bavarians, the Galacticos and maybe Benfica, Wenger and his men will fancy their chances against the rest of the quarter final contenders riding on the confidence of their past records.
