Why Red Devils are 15 points behind Chelsea - United legendShare:
Manchester United defeated Anderlecht to progress to the semifinals of the Europa League but their poor finishing is why they are 15 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League, according to Roy Keane.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane says his former club's difficult Europa League win over Anderlecht shows why the Red Devils are 15 points off the pace and fifth in the Premier League.
United needed a Marcus Rashford extra-time goal to go past the Belgian side 3-2 on aggregate, after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.
The Red Devils had missed a number of chances to put the game beyond their opponents in normal time, but couldn’t take the advantage, same as it was in the first leg, as Anderlecht grew in confidence and leveled shortly after Henrikh Mkhitaryan had given United the lead.

And speaking in his role as a pundit after the game, Keane praised his former side’s attacking instincts, but said their lack of goals is why they are so far behind Chelsea in the Premier League.
“They were quick out of the blocks, as you would expected from United at home and they got their noses in front," said Keane, speaking on ITV. "But my goodness, the finishing was so poor it was unbelievable.
“It summed up their season. You can see now why they are fifth in the league, why they are 15 points behind Chelsea…not good enough in terms of their finishing and being clinical.
“Ultimately, you get punished for that, but they are getting away with it because they are playing lesser opposition in the Europa League.
“It was just as well that Rashford scored the winner because you would have been waiting for him in the dressing room after the chances he missed,” said Keane.
