Zinedine Zidane faced the media on Monday and gave his reasons for including Cristiano Ronaldo in his 24-man squad to Macedonia as they prepare to face Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday.
Ronaldo's inclusion had surprise many as he just recently returned from his break following his particpation in the 2017 Confederations in Russia with European Champions Portugal two months ago.UEFA Super Cup: Real Madrid v Manchester United UEFA Super Cup: Ronaldo arrives Skopje with Real [PHOTOS]
The back-to-back UEFA Champions League winning manager in his pre-match press conference provided answers to the fears expressed by fans who feel it may be an unwise move to feature the Portuguese star against the coach Jose Mourinho led Manchester United side -the Europa League Cup holders.
"He is relaxed. What impressed me most is that he is as fit as the day of the Champions League final, and that is what interests me... his fitness.
"Ronaldo being with us means a lot, and it means he is ready to play, however, we will see if he does or not." said Zidane as quoted in Marca
