Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta revealed his dream to be a success in England following his £25m move from Torino on the transfer deadline of the summer transfer period.
Zappacosta has been impressive since his arrival but his best performance so far was in the 6-0 win against Qarabag in the Champions League last month.
The former Torino defender is determined to have a good career in the Premier League for Chelsea and hope to make a similar impact like Chelsea Italian greats Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Di Matteo and Gianluca Vialli who carved a niche for themselves at the club during their time at the club.
Zappacosta said: “I’ve noticed there is this long tradition [of Italian players at Chelsea].
"I just hope that, like my predecessors from Italy, I can make my mark at Chelsea and win some trophies.
“That would be a dream come true for me."
He added: "I am convinced I am well suited to the style of football in England, probably even more so than Italian football.
"There is more space because the intensity is higher and the game is much quicker, so I can look to exploit that.”
He has not featured for Chelsea since their 5-1 EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest last month.
Zappacosta is looking forward to having more playing minutes with Chelsea when the international break is over.
