Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has issued warning to President Florentino Perez over Cristiano Ronaldo over the concerns that he could suffer from burnout this season.
Zidane intends to give Ronaldo regular rest but due to injury to some of the players and lack of adequate squad debt the Portuguese forward might not get the needed rest.
Gareth Bale is currently out with a hamstring problem and Karim Benzema has also struggled with issues so far this season.
Marco Asensio’s form has also declined which has highlighted the importance of Ronaldo to the squad, according to Don Balon.
The departure of Alvaro Morata and Mariano Diaz to Chelsea and Lyon respectively has made Real Madrid low on options to offer rest to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo benefited from the rest last season after coming to live in the knockout stage of the Champions League and helping Los Blancos to win the Champions League and the La Liga.
The Frenchman is concerned and has told Real president Florentino Perez that overexposing Ronaldo could cause major problems later this season.
The Portuguese international will also have an eye on next summer’s World Cup after Portugal secured qualification.
Real Madrid will take a trip to Coliseum Alfonso Perez away at Getafe on Saturday.
