Zidane leaves six players behind for RB Salzburg clash

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has dropped five players for their upcoming clash against RB Salzburg in Austria on Wednesday.

Zidane selected 21 players but he excluded James Rodriguez, Mariano Diaz, Gareth Bale, Rodrigo, Takefusa Kubo and Marco Asensio were all dropped for various reasons.

The likes of James, Diaz and Bale were dropped so that they can sort their futures, the Frenchman insists the players are not part of his plan this season.

While Brahim Diaz, Ferland Mendy and Marco Asensio will all stay in Madrid as they recover from their respective injuries.

Rodrygo and Takefusa Kubo have also been excluded, though they'll be working with Castilla manager Raul Gonzalez’s orders.

Thibaut Courtois and Luka Jovic are back amongst the team.

The squad in full is as follows: Courtois, Keylor Navas, Andriy Lunin; Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Nacho, Militao, Marcelo, Alvaro Odriozola, Adrian De la Fuente; Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco, Fede Valverde; Jovic, Karim Benzema, Lucas Vazquez, Vinicius Junior and Eden Hazard.
