Zidane says Roma clash will be their most important despite 2-0 advantage

  ZidaneReal Madrid manager Zinedin Zidane has described their round of 16, second leg Champions League game against AS Roma as their most important game. The 10-time European champions host Roma at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night having won the first leg 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome two weeks ago. READ ALSO: Thrilled Zidane praises ‘unique’ RonaldoThe Spanish giants only need a draw or a 1-0 loss at worst to secure passage to the quarterfinals of the competition and despite having the advantage of having won the first leg and having a two-goal advantage, Zidane says they must still be wary of the Italian side. “For me the most important match is always the next one. As a coach, you want to be involved in games like this,” he told Uefa.com. “You can't explain with words what you feel. We have to defend when we don't have the ball and try to hurt our opponents when we do have it. It's not true that Roma have no chance.” The Real Madrid legend also stated that they are excited with the prospect of winning the competition again but maintains they’ve got a difficult match ahead. “Of course we are excited about the possibility of winning this competition but we should only be thinking about this difficult match ahead. Roma are a good team but I'm more worried about what we are going to do. Their forwards are very good. If you don't do your job properly, you can be eliminated.” For me the most important match is always the next one. As a coach, you want to be involved in games like this.
