Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will have one less worry ahead of next week's El Clasico as after defender Nacho Fernandez escaped the fifth booking to make himself available to line up against Barcelona following injuries to Pepe and Raphael Varane.
Given Los Blancos' lack of numbers at the back
this will come as a major relief to Zidane and company. Despite the risk of a fifth booking in LaLiga this season, the French coach played the young defender on Saturday alongside Sergio Ramos.
Pepe and Varane are both injured so it will be crucial that the Spanish pair also come through Tuesday's encounter with Bayern Munich unscathed.
Meanwhile, Zinedine singled out Isco for special praise after the former Malaga man secured a late win for Los Blancos against Sporting Gijon on Saturday.
"He had a great game, and gave us the victory," Zidane began. "He made the difference, I'm really pleased with him. Madrid is where he belongs, he showed his character today." Zidane said on Marca
The Frenchman was asked if the situation was unfair on Isco, who routinely finds himself outside of Zidane's preferred XI.
"We have a group of 24 players who would all get their game anywhere else, so there will always be great players left out here.
"This is the way it is, there are always tough decisions but once again Isco showed what a great player he is today. It was a disappointment today to concede two goals from two chanced
but the result was fair in the end."Next
up for Zidane who had Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo rested on Tuesday is the tie against Bayern Munich at home in a UEFA Champions League second leg clash on Tuesday night.
