Despite Ronaldo’s push for an exit, the Red Devil’s management was reluctant to let him leave and few clubs that showed interest in his services could not meet the demands as per wage hence the deal was not facilitated.

Manchester United fans were delighted to have him back and many took on social media to welcome the five time-Ballon d’Or to Old Trafford, though his future at the club is still unclear at the moment.

Ronaldo was presented with an opportunity to participate in the pre-season clash against Rayo Vallecano but he only played the opening 45 minutes of the clash, he could not make a return to the pitch after the second half.

Manager Erik ten Hag substituted Ronaldo in favour of Amad Diallo after the first half against the Spanish team and immediately after he was subbed off he exited Old Trafford, with some fans able to see him outside as he departed.

Manchester United will begin the season with the clash against Brighton on Sunday at Old Trafford with Ten Hag set to have a perfect start despite the team’s recent poor results.
