Real Madrid is set to take a deep dive into the transfer market in a bid to find a deputy for Karim Benzema ahead of the new La Liga season.
The European Champions have shortlisted six attackers to be Benzema’s heir after failing to secure the services of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Braut Haaland from Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
Real Madrid has sold Luka Jovic to Fiorentina and manager Carlo Ancelotti is still keen on offloading Mariano Diaz and Borja Mayoral in a bid to create space as they head into the new campaign.
Ancelotti is bent on adding an attacker that can chip in at least 12 goals with limited opportunity and could claim the starting spot once Benzema drops off form or suffer a dip in form.

Werner has not hit the ground running since his move from RB Leipzig to Chelsea and he is deemed to be surplus to requirements with Thomas Tuchel out to get a centre forward.
Noah has two years left in his deal with Salzburg, he scored nine goals and laid nine assists in 21 games last season for the Austrian Champions.
Dutch sensational Brobbey is also linked with a move to Real Madrid, the attacker just made a switch back to Ajax following a silent season at RB Leipzig.
Simic has also attracted interest from Real Madrid following his exploit last season, he was loaned to second-tier side FC Liefering, he amassed 19 goals in 24 league games, finishing third in the top-scoring charts and his great form in the UEFA Youth League matches is unequal he scored seven goals in nine games.
In Germany Stuggart attacker Sasa Kalajdzic is also a target though Manchester United is also linked with a move for the Bundesliga star.
Mainz 05 attacker also caught the attention of the La Liga Champions, he scored 11 Bundesliga goals last season but the 22-year-old star is not keen on a switch to Bernabeu.
Another player on the radar of Real Madrid chiefs is Hoffenheim Georginio Rutter who joined the Germain team last season for £675k in a four-year deal, he scored eight Bundesliga goals and laid four assists in 33 Bundesliga games.
