The 2022-23 season summer transfer window has been finally been shut down on Thursday at midnight across Europe.

After three months of endless negotiations, money-changing hands, and clubs showing their financial muscle but there have been major deals nicked by clubs.

Premier League’s fat-cat owners smashed over £2BILLION in summer transfer spending but some Nigerian footballers have also been seen making big money moves to other clubs.

Nigerians have also not been left out of action in the window as we have seen the Super Eagles trio of Taiwo Awoniyi, Joe Aribo, and Emmanuel Dennis join the big money spent by Premier League clubs.

Calvin Bassey,  Leon Balogun, Tyronne Eboue, Chidera Ejuke, Umar Sidiq, Ademola Lookman, Cryel Dessers, Jamilu Collins, Ogenyi Onazi, and Simy Nwankwo plus many other players from the West African nations.

Dozens of Nigerian footballers have switched clubs during the 2022 summer transfer windows Fcnaija rounds up all of the completed transfers involving Nigeria.

1, Taiwo Awoniyi completed a move to Nottingham Forest on a five-year deal after the newly promoted Premier League side paid a record fee of £17 million.

2, Emmanuel Dennis becomes the second Nigerian to sign for Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed transfer fee after the Super Eagles star notched 10 goals and claimed six assists for Watford in the Premier League last season

3, Joe Aribo joined Southampton from Rangers after he penned a four-year contract worth £6 million plus a four million add-on.

4, Calvin Bassey moves to George Finidi and Nwankwo Kanu’s former club Ajax for a club record transfer fee of around £20 million.

5, Leon Balogun returned to England after reuniting with former coach Mick Beale at Queens Park Rangers on a one-year contract following his departure from Glasgow Rangers at the end of last season.

6, Forlarin Balogun who is eligible to play for Super Eagles joined the French top club Reims on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

7, Jamilu Collins joined Cardiff City on a two-year contract after ending his five years spell with Paderborn.

8, Umar Sadiq quits Almeria for Real Sociedad worth an initial 20 million euros plus six million euros in potential add-ons.

9, Ogenyi Onazi team up with Serie D club Cartagena since leaving Saudi Arabian outfit Al Adalah FC.

10, Simeon ‘Simy’ Nwankwo signed for Benevento on a season loan at an Italian Serie B club with an option to buy included in the agreement from Salernitana.

11, Cyriel Dessers joined Cremonese from KRC Genk after new Serie A boys parted with €6.5m to sign the talented striker.

12, Kingsley Osezele Ehizibue joining Udinese from German club FC Cologne with Serie A giant paid a transfer fee of between €1.5 and €2 million for the 2020 Super Eagles invitee.

13, Ademola Lookman penned a four-year contract with Atalanta with a fee in the region of €15m from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

14, Henry Onyekuru returned to Turkish Super Lig after joining Adana Demirspor on a one-year loan deal from Greek champions, Olympiacos.

19, Anthony Ujah joined his fifth German club, Eintracht Braunschweig, on a free transfer.

20, Raphael Onyedika signs a juicy 5-year contract with Champions League side Club Brugge.

21, Anthony Nwakaeme signed for Saudi pro side Al-Fayha as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Turkish Super Lig Champions Trabzonspor.

22, Victor Boniface joined Belgium Jupiler outfit Union SG on a four-year deal with the option of a further year, the transfer.

23,  Ishaq Abdulrazak completed his transfer from IFK Norrköping to Anderlecht as the Belgian giant paid €4.5million for the youngster, plus add on an extra fee of 20% of his transfer fee should he move to another club.

24, Stephen Odey has joined Danish club Randers FC from KRC Genk permanently until June 2024 after spending a season-long deal at Cepheus Park Randers.

25, Olakunle Olusegun joined Russian club FC Krasnodar on a season-long loan from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv.

26, Anayo Iwuala has been sent on a season-long loan to Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 champions CR Belouizdad from Esperance.

27, Joel Obi has departed Salernitana for Serie B club Reggina on a two-year contract.

28, Ubong Ekpai has joined Czech Republic Fortuna Liga side Mlada Boleslav on a season-long loan from Slavia Prague.

29, Kingsley Michael joined Austrian club SV Reid to revive his career from Serie A club, Bologna.

30, Junior Ajayi has penned a three-year contract with Egyptian Premier League outfit, Smouha SC.

31, Abraham Marcus moves to Porto B on loan from Portimonense, with an option to make his stay permanent.

32, Iyayi Atiemwen joins UEFA Champions League giant-slayers, FC Sheriff on a free transfer.

33, Fortune Bassey joins Viktoria Plzeň on a season-long loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

34, Blessing Eleke has completed a switch to J1 League side Kashima Antlers from K. Beerschot V.A in Belgium.

35, Jesse Sekidika signed a contract with Turkish First League side Eyüpspor that will keep him at the second-tier club until the end of the 2021-2022 season from Galatasaray.

36, Wasiri Ola Williams signed for former Premier League club Swansea City on an initial one-year contract with an option of another additional 12 months.
