Chelsea is keen on signing a midfielder and Tuchel is keen on having De Jong and the Blues’ new owner Todd Bohely is willing to match the asking price for the Dutch star, Manchester United is also in the mix but Chelsea is ready to match the Red Devils’ asking price of £72 million
Recent reports indicated that Chelsea is getting closer to an agreement with Barcelona for the 25-year-old. However, convincing De Jong could be an issue as he is reluctant to leave Camp Nou until the Catalan giants settle his deferred wage payments.
Chelsea is also in for Aubamenyang as they aim to cover the void left by Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner who departed for Inter Milan and RB Leipzig this summer.
Aubamenyang seems to be surplus to requirement at Camp Nou following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, and Raphinha this summer, Chelsea are offering the 33-year-old attacker an escape route instead of seeing his game time limited under Xavi Hernandez this season as he could be a starter at Chelsea.
Aubameyang still has three years left on his contract but Tuchel wants to reunite with the Gabonese striker, after having coached him for a couple of seasons at Borussia Dortmund before he joined Arsenal.
Chelsea has already lost Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen has also joined Barcelona this season with Khalidou Coulibaly making a move to Chelsea.
