Lucas Vazquez and David Alaba helped Real Madrid to overcome an early goal against Almeria in the second half to make it 1-2 in their opening La Liga clash against the newly promoted team.
Almeria stunned Real Madrid in the opening seven minutes of the clash with a goal from Largie Ramazani after the visitor’s defence was caught open with a defence-splitting pass from the midfield, it was a good display of vision from midfielder Inigo Eguras.
Karim Benzema and Vinicius combined well in the opening 45 minutes of the game but the Almeria defence kept them at bay despite the home team recording 17 goal attempts compared to one goal attempt from the host.
Real Madrid mounted pressure on the host team and just in 45 minutes they have 12 corner kicks with the host none in the first half of the game.
Real Madrid continued from where they stopped in the first half as the La Liga champions continue to mount pressure on Almeria’s defence and in the 63rd minute their effort paid off with an assist from Benzema to Lucas Vazquez to make it 1-1.
Real Madrid almost got the second again from Vazquez both the winger’s efforts just went over the bar.
David Alaba announced himself with his shooting ability from a perfect free-kick after just a few seconds of taking on the pitch for Ferland Mendy in the 75th minute to make it 1-2 as Real Madrid take the lead.
Almeria will play Elche in their next game while Real Madrid will play Celta Vigo in match day two of La Liga.
