Chelsea had a dreadful opening first half having gone 2-0 against Leeds United.
Chelsea opted for a tactical change and switched to a 4-3-3 formation from the 3-5-2 rigid formation in the second half. Leeds United remained the better side in the second half with Chelsea showing no real threat to get the goals.
Jorginho was hurled out and Hakim Ziyech was thrown as Chelsea opted for an attacking play.
Leeds United scored the third goal from brilliant ball work having destabilised the defence in the 69th minute to pave way for Jack Harrison from a touch from Rodrigo.
Khalidou Coulibaly was flashed the second yellow and was sent off for his foul on a Leeds United player in the 86th minute.
Chelsea will welcome Leicester City in their next fixture in the Premier League while Leeds will play Barnsley in the EFL Cup.
