The home base Super Eagles were defeated by Ghana’s home base players in the ongoing African Nations Champions, the black galaxies won the first leg with a 2-0 scoreline at home.
The first half ended in a stalemate, both sides played 0-0 for the entire first 45 minutes of the clash.
In the second half, Ghana came out smoking and look different from the team that played the first half as they forced the home base Super Eagles to a defeat.
A goal from Heart of Oak attacker Daniel Afriyie settled the game in the 49th minute of the clash, the 21-year-old forward made the best use of the opportunity presented to him to break the deadlock for the Black Stars in the second half of the clash.
Ghana ensured they put the game to final rest at home by scoring the second goal to make it 2-0 from a strike from Hearts of Oak midfielder Seidu Suraj with just four minutes left.
It should be noted that the main black star team stopped the Super Eagles from participating in the World Cup in Qatar following their 1-0 win over Nigeria after a goalless draw in Ghana.
The second leg will be played on the 3rd of September 2022 in Nigeria.
