The Audi Field is the home of Major League Soccer team D.C. United and it is also used for most home games of the Washington Spirit of the NWSL.
The stadium seats 20,000 people, it was named Audi Field on February 15, 2017, after German automobile manufacturer Audi and D.C. United announced a “long-term” naming rights deal for the new stadium for the next twelve years with the headquarters of the automobile company located in Herndon, Virginia, a suburb of Washington.
On July 9, 2018, precisely the Audi Field had a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the first match held on the pitch was the clash between D.C United and Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 14, 2018, the home team won 3-1 in the presence of 20,504 spectators, the event was marred by an injury to a sideline reporter, who was injured after being hit by a piece of the railing before the game commenced.

The USMNT played at Audi Field again in a CONCACAF Nations League game against Cuba on October 11, 2019, and this time The USMNT won 7–0.
The stadium will host the 2023 Major League Soccer All-Star Game in July 2023.
