Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar compared the current best centre-back in his recent interview with DAZN, the Brazilian star spoke about Antonio Rudiger, Virgil van Dijk and Raphael Varane.

When asked about Rudiger, who joined Real Madrid in the summer, Neymar said the German defender is intimidating and scary.

The Real Madrid defender is one of the best defenders in Europe, he is one of the fastest and has high defensive prowess.

“I like him a lot, he is a scary centre-back,” Neymar acknowledged in an interview with DAZN when asked about Rudiger.

“He’s very big and strong. Some strikers get a bit scared.

“I don’t, but I think a lot of strikers get a bit scared.”

When questioned about other defenders, the Brazilian claimed that Virgil van Dijk is very strong and intelligent.

“Playing against Van Dijk is difficult because, as a centre-back, he is very strong and intelligent,” he stated.

“He knows when it’s the right moment to close you down and when to come in for a tackle.”

The 30-year-old also had a few words for Manchester United’s Raphael Varane, whom he faced often during his time in Spain.

“He’s a very good centre-back,” he admitted.

“He’s quick and intelligent. His positioning is very good. He’s a top player.

“He hardly ever makes mistakes. That’s why he’s won so much.”
