Barcelona veteran player is not ready to hang his boot despite being used sparingly by manager Xavi Hernandez this season.

Gerard Pique is not ready to quit despite not having much game time under his belt and he is not perturbed with his situation at Camp Nou.

The veteran defender is putting all his best to turn the situation around so that he would be restricted to the bench role always.

Xavi gave Pique just two appearances in Barcelona eight games this season, six La Liga games and two Champions League games.

He has only played in the game against Cadiz in domestic competition and half of the game against Viktoria Plzen in Europe.

Pique has dropped in the pecking order with Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen and Jules Kounde all ahead of him and he would have to convince Xavi to beat any of the players to make the starting XI.

Pique,35, also maintained that he does not want to play for other clubs anymore at this point of his career and still wants to fight his way back into the starting line-up each time the team file out for a match.

Pique is one of the few players that opted for salary reduction at Barcelona in other to reduce the financial burden of the club in the financial crisis.

Barcelona signed Kounde and Christensen this season to strengthen their centre-back option and this could signal the end of the road for the Spanish international.

Pique won all trophies at the club level and with Spain, he won the World Cup and two Euro titles during his time with the La Roja.
