AC Milan defeated Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 at the San Siro to claim their first win in the Champions League having drawn their opener against Salzburg.
AC Milan had struggled in the early minute of the match to control the rhythm of the game, with Dinamo Zagreb dictating the early show.
The host was back in contention after 20 minutes of play and had some decent chances to break the deadlock but Zagreb was up to the task and stood toe to toe with the Italian giants.
AC Milan found their breakthrough from the penalty spot when an AC Milan player was fouled in the box with just a minute to end the first half of the clash, Olivier Giroud made no mistake from the spot to give AC Milan the lead.
The Second half started with a high press from AC Milan and it produced an instant result with Rafael Leao producing a well-timed lofty pass to Alexis Saelmaekers who headed home the second goal for the host just two minutes into the second half.
Dinamo Zagreb fought back with a goal in the 56th minute from Mislav Orsic, the attacker displayed great determination to get to the ball before AC Milan defenders to get the ball to the back of the net.
Tommaso Pobega made it 3-1 in favour of AC Milan from a volley inside the box with a cool assist from Theo Hernandez in the 77th minute of the clash.
AC Milan will return to action in Serie A with a clash against Napoli while Dinamo Zagreb will take a trip to face Lokomotiv Zagreb.
