AC Milan targets new Nigerian rising star Raphael Onyedika ahead of the upcoming 2022-23 Serie A season.
The 21-year-old midfielder enjoyed a tremendous campaign with Midtllyand last term where he made 28 league appearances in total, scoring three goals in helping his Danish Super Lig outfit to qualify for European competition this season.
The former FC Ebedei player won the Danish league’s Young Player of the Year Award last term drawing the attention of AC Milan after Serie A champions missed out on targets such as Portugal international Renato Sanches and Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka.

According to Pietro Mazzara of the Milan News, club directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have identified the yet-to-be-capped Nigerian midfield enforcer to bolster their middle of the pack with Italian star Sandro Tonali’s injury ahead of the new season.
The Milan News claimed that; “The discussion linked to the purchase of the midfielder is taking place, regardless of what the results of Sandro Tonali’s exams will be.
“Raphael Onyedika is currently the primary objective to strengthen the midfield department. The player born in 2001 in Midtllyand is at the top of the list of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. The other options that have emerged in recent days are colder to date,”
The Rossoneri midfielder suffered a muscle problem during the club’s 6-1 demolition of Vicenza in a pre-season friendly on Saturday and he has already been ruled out of the team’s Serie A opener against Udinese.
AC Milan have former Arsenal star Ismael Bennacer and French-Algerian player Yacine Adli available in their midfield but wants more options ahead of a difficult title defence having lost Ivory Coast international Franck Kessie in the summer to Barcelona.
Onyedika who is 184 cm tall is expected to cost AC Milan under €10m and will fancy a move to the Serie A and one of the biggest clubs in the world.
