Another Super Eagles player Semi Ajayi has been ruled out from this month Nigeria’s international friendly match against Algeria.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international sustain an injury during Baggies’ 1-1 draw with Wigan at DW Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship encounter.

Ajayi has not featured since the end of last month when he sustained ligament damage after limping off in the first half, and the former Arsenal U21 skipper went under the knife to rectify the injury problem.

West Brom manager Steve Bruce has now confirmed via the club’s official website that Super Eagles defender will spend up to two months out of action.

The boss said: “Semi has had an operation. We’ve listened to specialists and they’ve advised us that was the best thing to do going forward.

“We’re expecting him to be about another six weeks but these things can change.”

Ajayi has emerged as a key player under Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro with the center-back going the distance in all the four matches played by the national team since the Portuguese took over the managerial reigns.

Ajayi joined West Brom from Rotherham United in 2019 and has played 117 games for the club, scoring nine times.
