It was a dramatic ending at Wanda Metropolitano following Atletico Madrid’s 2-1 win over Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Mario Hermoso and Antoine Griezmann’s goals were enough for Diego Simone’s men to earn the three points at home against Porto.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke displayed a great range of vision with a powerful valley but Diogo Costa was spot on to deny his effort with an astonishing save.

Atletico Madrid created five goal attempts and registered one shot on goal while Porto had seven goal attempts and had no shots on goal.

The game has limited shots on goal as both teams are set up on defensive mode from their display, the first half ended 0-0.

Atletico Madrid had a goal ruled by VAR and the search for the opener continued at Wanda Metropolitano.

It was a dramatic ending as three goals were scored in the additional time, with Atletico scoring two goals and Porto scoring one to make it 2-1 at the end of the match.

Hermoso put the home team ahead and it was cancelled out by Mateus Uribe from the penalty spot before Antoine Griezmann scored the winning goal for the home team.

Atletico Madrid will resume La Liga action against Celta Vigo at the Wanda Metropolitano while on the European scene they take a trip to German to face Bayer Leverkusen.
Porto will host Chaves in the Primera division and host Club Brugge in their next match in the Champions League.
