Atletico Madrid was held to a 0-0 draw against Granada at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday evening in their La Liga match as the La Liga Champions drops further points and pave way for Real Madrid.
Granada did excellently well to hold off Atletico Madrid’s threat in the entire first half of their clash.
Atletico Madrid had five-goal attempts and manages just a shot on goal with Granada having three shots on goal and surprisingly having one more shot on goal than the home team in the opening half.
Both managers made some tactical changes to adjust the flow of the game but the match continue to look like it would end in a draw.
Aitor Karanka’s men absorbed all the pressure mounted on them by Atletico Madrid, Granda ensure that the La Liga Champions had no shot on goal despite having 66% of ball possession and 12 goal attempts in the second half alone.
The game ended 0-0 despite the draw Atletico Madrid move to second place on the La Liga table with Barcelona and Sevilla yet to play their next round games.
Atletico will take a trip to San Mames to face Athletic Bilbao while Granada will welcome Celta Viga in their next La Liga clash.
