Barcelona suffered another 1-0 defeat against Rayo Vallecano in the La Liga as the Los Franjirrojos claimed a win over the Catalans.
Barcelona was stunned by an early goal by Rayo Vallecano, Alvaro Garcia scored in the 7th minute to give the away team the lead.
Though Barcelona fought back to level the scoreline in the first half with the effort of Jordi Alba and Gavi thwarted in the opening half.
Ferran Torres’ goal was also rightly disallowed due to offside, Rayo Vallecano continued to defend deep with their slim lead over Barcelona with the home team dominating all aspects of the game against the visitors except the scoreline.
Xavi Hernandez introduced Adama Traore into the game and substituted Eric Garcia in a bid to mount attacking pressure on the visitors but the away team absorbed all that was thrown at them to claim the three points away from home, as the game ended 0-1 in favour of the Los Franjirrojos.
Barcelona remained in the second position with the same points as Sevilla on the La Liga table.
Barcelona will host relegation-threatened Real Mallorca while Rayo Vallecano will entertain Real Sociedad in their next games.
