Barcelona is prepared to sign an Argentine star this summer as they aim to add more depth to the squad.
Barcelona endured a difficult time sourcing for a right back having missed out on the signing of Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta and it seems the Catalan giants have settled for Villarreal Juan Foyth for the right back position.
Foyth has been instrumental for Villarreal having helped the team to Europa League success last two seasons and also propel the team to the Champions League semi-final finals in the just concluded season.
According to renowned Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, an agreement on personal terms between Barcelona and Foyth is close. His agent was seen in Barcelona on Tuesday.
Villarreal is ready to strike a deal and it was even stated that the Yellow Submarine have already begun looking for a replacement but previously it had been thought that Villarreal would demand his €42m release clause to leave.
Though Barcelona had other options if they are unable to meet Villarreal’s valuation for the 24-year-old moved for €15m from Tottenham Hotspur.
