Messi and Laporta had a strenuous relationship in the past and both have gotten on well now despite Messi moving to Paris Saint-Germain.
It is reported that Messi and Laporta have been communicating on the phone, although Messi’s entourage denies this.
Messi has not ruled out the possibility of making a return to Barcelona after his great service to the club he earned his name. Messi retained his house in Spain despite his move to France and still visits his home in Catalonia.
It is suggested that Messi could work with the sporting director of the club, if he returns as a player his role would be clarified, he would need to take a massive wage cut to make a return to his former home and Xavi would need to create a room for the 36-year-old player and also avoid to hamper the development of the Barcelona youngsters such as Pedri, Ansu Fati and Gavi.
