Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka shines as Chelsea extended their unbeaten run to seven games under Graham Potter after a goalless draw against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League encounter on Wednesday night.
Brentford edged the game and should have taken advantage of chances for Ivan Toney and, especially, Bryan Mbeumo, who headed straight at Kepa Arrizabalaga just after halhalftime what proved to be the nearest the game would come to a goal.
Chelsea saw Cesar Azpilicueta and Kai Havertz both denied by Brentford’s David Raya.
Super Eagles star Onyeka was instrumental in not allowing Potters’ men to dominate the midfield and was substituted in the 60th minute and replace with Shandon Baptiste.
Substitutes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Christian Pulisic and Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka nearly won it late on for the visitors, but Raya again did well to make vital saves to keep it level.
The point keeps Potter’s side fourth, seven points behind leaders Arsenal, while ninth-placed Brentford have now drawn five of 11 Premier League matches this season.
