Good result as Plateau United kicked off their CAF Champions League Preliminary Round one campaign with a 2-2 draw against Gabonese side, AS Stade Mandji on Saturday evening encounter.

The Peace Boys are coming into the tournament First Preliminary Round first leg after ending up as a runner-up to holders Rivers United in Nigeria Professional Football League

Plateau United took the lead 18th minute of the encounter in Gabon before the host team AS Stade Mandji leveled the score a few minutes later.

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s led side take a lead again in the 38th minute before the Gabonese club equalise the end of the first half.

The second leg will be played at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Sunday, September 18th.

Should Plateau United surmount this hurdle, they will have to battle the Esperance of Tunisia for a place in the group stage.
