Real Madrid is on the verge to complete a move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer this summer.

Rudiger’s representatives demanded high wages in the past which deterred Real Madrid from furthering the proceedings.

Top European clubs are in the race to sign the German defender but they are unwilling to meet the demands of the defender which led the 29-year-old to reduce his demands considerably.

Tuchel confirms the exit of Chelsea star at the end of the season

With the recent development, Real Madrid is in a better position to seal a deal for the former AS Roma defender.

Real Madrid want to offer Rudiger a four-year deal, and the deal could be agreed upon as early as this week, although it will not be made official until the end of the season.

Real Madrid lack a quality centre back in the squad following the exit of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane last season.
