Derby County welcome Semi Ajayi’s West Brom to Pride Park in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

The Rams are coming into the encounter after they recorded a 2-1 win over Mansfield Town in the first round of the competition, while the Baggies beat Sheffield United 1-0 at The Hawthorns to set up the tie with Liam Rosenior’s side.

Derby County draw West Brom in the Championship last season after playing a goalless draw at The Hawthorns before their 1-0 triumph at Pride Park.

The home team is clearly an inferior opponent to West Brom on paper as well as on the field too, in terms of performance after losing 7 of their last fixtures against the Baggies in all competitions.

West Brom have lost just once in their last 14 games across all competitions.

The last four meetings between West Brom and Derby County has ended in under 2.5 goals being scored, while the Baggies last six games saw less than three goals scored.

West Brom has scored less than 1.5 goals in of the last away games against Derby.

All things considered, this should be a low-scoring game and West Brom have enough to secure a narrow away win or daw and under 3.5 at Pride Park on Tuesday night.
