Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi impress very well as Everton and Liverpool played a 0-0 draw in the Merseyside derby in the Premier League encounter at Goodison Park on Saturday early kick-off.

The Nigeria international retain his place in Frank Lampard’s starting lineups as the Toffees looking for their first win of the season in the derby as he spent much of this campaign operating as part of a midfield pairing in a 4-3-3.

The home side started the encounter on a positive note after Tom Davies hit the woodwork for Everton while Darwin Nunez return to Liverpool side shot on to the bar with England keeper Jordan Pickford parred the ball on the top of the post.

Luis Diaz suffered a similar fate for Liverpool but Iwobi helped Everton dominate the middle of the pack alongside Amadou Onana.

Iwobi provided crisp passes forward to Anthony Gordon and Maupay on several occasions, also demanding the ball in tight spots to give Everton a break.

Liverpool substitute Roberto Firmino on three separate occasions while Mohamed Salah hit the post again in the final seconds.

Former Liverpool defender Conor Coady thought he had broken the deadlock against his former club when he turned in debutant Neal Maupay’s shot but the goal was disallowed after a lengthy VAR intervention.

Pickford would produce some huge saves late on as both sides settled for a draw.
