Eddie Nketiah’s season begins after scoring the winner in Arsenal’s 2-1 away win over FC Zurich in their Europa League opener on Thursday night.
The Gunners seized total control after taking the lead on the counter through debutant Marquinhos.
But Nketiah allowed the hosts to equalise from the spot just before half-time.
A minute’s silence was held before the players went out for the second half following the sad announcement of Queen Elizabeth’s death.
Ghanian descent headed Arsenal back into the lead in the second half after a cross from the left-hand side as Nketiah meets Marquinhos pull out to give Gunners the advantage again.
Mikel Arteta then introduced the big guns off the bench but the Gunners were unable to grab a third.
