Former Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger has revealed why he bullied attackers during matches.
The defender revealed who his role model is and he is not shy to name Real Madrid hero Pepe has his exemplary model, when asked of his role model in the game.
From Rudiger style of play it could esily be noticed he modelled the Portuguese defender, Rudiger admitted that he looked up to Portuguese defender Pepe who is known for his no nonsense style of play.
“Pepe was my great model at Real Madrid, I always wanted to be like him. I used to watch videos of him straddling his opponents,” he said.
“I was still young then and I wanted to show everyone that I could be tough too. That was in my head. It was unbelievable how good Pepe was.
“Not only in the tackle, but also in the preparation of the game. But today everyone at Real tells me that off the pitch he was actually a very calm character,” he said.
Germany manager Hansi Flick name Rudiger in the squad to face Hungary and England in the Uefa Nations League.
