France ended a five-game winless run with the 2-0 win over Austria thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe and Oliver Giroud in the second half to win for the first time in five games in the UEFA Nations League.
The host was held to a goalless draw in the first half but the host was back in the game in the second half thanks to a brilliant goal from Mbappe in the 56th minute of the game, thanks to an assist from Giroud.
Mbappe waved through lots of defenders to find the back of the net. France would have gone up for the second goal but the goalkeeper was alert to ward off the challenge from the french attack.
Giroud made it 2-0 for the Bleus, the attack met a lofty pass from Antoine Griezmann to grab the second goal from the 65th.
France dominated the game with Griezmann dropping deep to help the midfield and help to release the team on the counterattack.
France held on to the 2-0 lead as the leapfrogged Austria to the third position in the standings.
