French club Sochaux have reacted after former Enyimba defender Valentine Ozornwafor, gets the Super Eagles invitation for Algeria’s international friendly match.

Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro has plenty of injury worries to defenders and strikers as the Portuguese tactician will reshuffle his options and hand invites to fringe national team stars against Desert Foxes later this month in Oran.

Peseiro is yet to announce his Super Eagles squad to prosecute the encounter against dethroned African Champions at Miloud Hadefi Stadium, Oran on Tuesday, September 27.

However, the 62-year-old former Sporting CP manager will be without West Bromwich Albion defender Semi Ajayi who is already ruled from the fixtures due to an ankle injury, while Leganes captain Kenneth Omeruo is a major doubt for the upcoming friendly tie.

Sochaux confirmed Ozornwafor’s invitation as the French Ligue 2 club reacted via their official website and social media handle.

Ozornwafor is currently on season loan to Wilson Oruma’s former club Sochaux from Turkish Super Lig giants, Galatasaray, where has played in three Ligue 2 games in 2022-2023 overall and accumulated 184 minutes of playing time.

Former Enyimba defender represented Nigeria at under-20 level and U23 level made his Super Eagles debut under Gernot Rohr against Cameroon on 4 June 2021.

Ozornwafor will be hoping to add his third under new national team coach Peseiro against Alegeria September 27.
