Inter Milan defeated AC Milan 3-0 in the first leg of their Copa Italia match, thanks to a brace from Lautaro Martinez and a lone goal from Robin Gosens ensured that the Inter reach the finals of the Coppa Italia.
Inter Milan attacker Lautaro Martinez broke the deadlock in the 4th minute of the clash.
AC Milan showed some signs of coming back into the game but it was Inter Milan that scored another goal to make it 2-0 in the first half, Martinez was the scorer of the second goal.
The home team had a 2-0 lead over their fellow Milan rival at half-time.
AC Milan almost got rewarded for their brilliant gameplay with the Ismael Bennacer getting on the score sheet in the 67th minute of the clash but it was ruled out by VAR due to infringement in the build-up.
Robin Gosens made things worse for AC Milan with the third for the home team to make it 3-0.
AC Milan had more of the ball possession but the result is in the favour of Inter Milan who is more clinical with their chances.
Inter will await either Juventus or Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia finals, with Juventus having a 1-0 lead in the first leg.
