Giacomo Raspadori is on target as Italy condemns England to relegation after a 1-0 win in the UEFA Nations League encounter at San Siro on Friday night.
After a lackluster first half in which England’s 3-4-3 formation and Bukayo Saka’s left wingback position didn’t look right, they were defeated.
Raspadori produced instant control and a fierce right-foot finish which gave goalkeeper Nick Pope, in for the injured Jordan Pickford, no chance.
Italy have been badly out of sorts since they beat England at Wembley last summer to win the Euros, failing to qualify for the World Cup, but they could have scored several more on Friday night.
England’s winless streak extended to five games, their worst since June 2014 but Gareth Southgate’s side must response against Germany at Wembley on Monday.
