Jorginho rejected the proposal, his reason is the recent contract offered to his teammate Cesar Azpilicueta, the wage of the club’s captain was increased to £150,000 per week, and the Italian international wants parity. Chelsea could look into the situation knowing the midfielder’s intention to remain at the club.

N’Golo Kante is in a similar situation the midfielder has rejected new proposals from the club and the new Chelsea owner is not ready to lose both midfielders in the same season. Jorginho could entertain a move to Barcelona in January and the likes of Lazio and Juventus remain keen on bringing him back to Serie A.

Though Chelsea is looking at some worthy replacements with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Edson Alvarez and Declan Rice are some of the players in their sight if they cannot tie down the pair with a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
