Barcelona is monitoring the situation of the Chelsea midfielder as the Camp Nou outfit aims to make a move when the winter transfer window opens, according to a report in Marca as per The Sun.
Barcelona was interested in the signing of three Chelsea players during the summer transfer window with the likes of Marcos Alonso Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen all linked with a move to Camp Nou but it was just two of the three players that ended at Camp Nou with Azpilicueta remaining at the Stamford Bridge after the Premier League team agreed to his terms.
It is reported that the 30-year-old, whose contract ends in 2023, could be sold in January or leave Chelsea on a free transfer during the summer.
Chelsea’s new manager Graham Potter did not see the Italian international in his plans and the player wants to move on with Barcelona on the horizon.
Jorginho previously played for Napoli and Hellas Verona in Serie A before joining Chelsea under the request of former manager Maurizio Sarri.
Jorginho was named UEFA Player of the Year in 2021 and has won the Champions League with Chelsea and the European Championship with Italy.
