Juventus got off to a quick start but they fell to a 2-1 against Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday evening at the Allianz Arena.

Arkadiusz Milik’s header from a freekick in the fourth minute of the clash gifted Juventus an early lead as the host a 1-0 lead

Goncalo Ramos was close to equalising for Benfica but the player’s effort was not enough to threaten Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin Benefica’s persistence paid off in the 44th minute of the game as Joao Mario was awarded a penalty and he had no issue converting from the spot to make it 1-1 with just a minute to end the first half of the match.

David Neres made it 2-1 for Benfica in the 55th minute from a rebound that was not dealt with by Juventus’s defence.

The Portuguese Champions ensured they held on to the lead and ensured they maintained the maximum points to stay in touch with Paris Saint-Germain on the group standings.

Juventus will face Monza in the Serie A at the Allianz Arena while Benfica will return to Primera Liga action against Maritimo.
